The steamer seams to do its job well. You fill it up with water (preferably distilled), plug it in and turn it on. Shortly, you are brushing out wrinkles from whatever garment or fabric you can hang up. It is a new take on an old technology that does its job pretty well.But here is where I kind of disagree with the listing. Calling this portable gives the impression that it is wireless, or lightweight, or both. It is certainly not wireless. This must be plugged in to mains voltage to function. That’s not unreasonable. It takes a lot of juice to make the heat needed to create steam.Also, this item is really just a new take on the old clothing iron. At the very basic level, it functions the same way. They just added some silicon and logic to it to make it a neat gadget for the 21st century. That’s fine and all… it does its job. But again, calling it portable is like calling an old lightweight clothing iron portable.I remember as a kid, all the high end clothing stores had steamers standing around. They looked like a small shop-vac with a wire stand to hold the hose and steamer head, that gave a steady supply of steam to relax clothing. This works a little differently. It’s more of a pulse of steam. Again, comparable to the irons we’ve all grown up with if you’re more than 30 years old.Does it work? Sure. It works well. Is it portable? Well, that really depends on what you think of when you mean portable. But the instructions were written well and it feels like a good quality device. I’m probably being harder on it than I should. Looking at other reviews, I feel like I’m with the consensus.

I love the ease of use. The handle is ergonomic making the steamer easy to grip and guide. I’ve not experienced any leaking. I do find certain fabrics are resistant to the steam, although other steaming devices work fine on those fabrics. I guess it could be the difference in concentration of steam, but don’t really know.
