Reliable Smart Plug That Integrates Seamlessly with Hue Ecosystem
The Philips Hue Smart Plug adds a simple way to control non-Hue lamps or appliances within the Hue system. Setup through the Hue app takes less than a minute—once paired to the Bridge, it responds instantly to schedules, voice commands, and automations. It works smoothly with Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple HomeKit, and it shows up like any other Hue light in the app.Build quality is solid and compact enough to fit standard outlets without blocking the adjacent socket. Power delivery is stable, and there’s no noticeable heat buildup during extended use. The manual button on the side gives quick control without reaching for the phone.A dependable, straightforward addition for anyone already using Hue lighting

Reliable Addition to the Hue Ecosystem
Another great Hue product. The smart plug works seamlessly with the Hue app, letting you turn any lamp into a smart light. Setup is quick, integration is smooth, and it responds reliably to schedules and voice commands. It’s a simple way to expand the Hue system without buying new smart bulbs, and it keeps everything under one app. Solid build, consistent performance, and exactly what you’d expect from Hue.

High quality
I have a Philips hue bridge, so this was a no brainer to buy when I saw it on sale. Works as expected right out the box. Easy to install and fits right into my existing setup

Not just the plugs but Phillips Hue in general
I operate in an Apple ecosystem. I always try to find products that work in the home app. I started buying Phillips Hue products 10 years ago. Currently I have over $2000 worth of light bulbs. Crazy I know but it is addicting. So the only complaint I have about their product is the hub can only have I think 50 or 55 devices on it before it starts creating problems or so I have read. I am currently at 49 devices. So I tried to start adding Plugs from another company because I didn’t want to expand the Hue system to another hub. The other plugs have given me problems. I get them set up and everything works. Months later they stop working. Then I have to reset them and they work again. So a few months ago we bought a pool. I would have to go out and manually turn the pump on and off. I was trying to figure out how I could add a timer to the pump for everyday circulation. I realized if I bought this plug I could not only use the timer function but then when we go swimming I could just use my phone to turn the pump on. Because I had issues with the other plugs I decided to go back to Hue for this.Hue products just work better. I have had zero issues with this plug. Timer always works as it should. It never looses connection. I tell Siri to turn on the pool and the pumps stats in 3 seconds or less. In 10 years I have not had to change a single light bulb. Every lightbulb inside and outside of my house changes colors. I might just have to get another hub and make my whole home Phillips hue. As far as I am concerned it is the best in smart home technology. I just wish they would make a hub for 100 devices.

Fantastic! Seamless connectivity.
This plug is fantastic. Works exactly as expected. I used it to connect our Christmas tree to the app so it’d be seamless with the rest of our living room lights. Love all of the hue products.

Basic plugs that just work
I wanted a plug that works natively with HomeKit and Alexa. I’ve tried numerous brands with various technologies using Matter over WiFi, Matter over Thread and just plain Cloud based connectivity using Alexa Skills. Matter over Thread would be my preference but the standard is too new and has too many problems. The one and only brand that I found to be both reliable and fast to respond is Philips Hue. It’s because they have their own central hub. They now support the new Matter standard for their Hub but all their other lights and devices do not. That means you must still use their Hub. I have chosen not to turn on Matter because it does not support adaptive lighting for their bulbs in HomeKit. They say support is coming but who knows when that will be. Besides, whatever they’re doing to keep compatibility between platforms is working great. These plugs work using Zigbee or Bluetooth so they do not take up resources on a WiFi network. They only offer the ability to program Power On Behavior. No options for LED control or timers etc. The reality is that most people will create automatons using the Hue App or the platform of their choice such as Alexa, HomeKit or Google. The LED turns green for a few seconds when the plug is on or Red for when it’s Off. The LED does not remain lit and will turn off completely so it’s not a distraction in a dark room. This plug is expensive compared to other brands that offer more but at the end of the day they just work, no hassles, no unresponsive messages, no worries.

Convenient and reliable.
I’ve been using this for our bedroom fan. We can now remotely work it without having to get out of bed. What more could a man want?

Works great!
I like how all Philips hue devices work so well and always reliable.

I’m sure these work great if you are already in the Philips ecosystem but unfortunately in order to have it work with Apple Home Kit you need to spend more money on an Hue Bridge. Not worth the set up if you are already invested in other ecosystems.

Do not buy this if you are an apple customer. Thank me later. Why?You cannot control this away from home or even setup a simple schedule without also owning the Philips Hue smart hub. But don’t even think about buying *that* as well if you value voice control, or your sanity. (yes, pretty much the entire reason you would use smart home devices like this in the first place).By default, there is no way to control any Philips hue smart home device via voice command if you are an Apple user, unless you have also invested in an Apple smart home hub product AND the Philips hue smart hub. So basically, in order to get the most out of this product you would need to own ~$300CAD worth of other technology to use it properly. There is a workaround however, if you made the mistake of buying a Phillips hue smart hub. (Ask me how I know) You can program each individual voice command within the Shortcuts app. Manually selecting each scene or room and programming each specific voice command. This means that If you program a command to listen for “lights off “ it won’t also work if you say a different phrase like “turn the lights off” —you have to set up a new shortcut for each variation of the voice command. A huge pain that is unavoidable if you didn’t plan on spending another hundred dollars on an Apple smart home hub product (like Apple TV or HomePod speaker)… if Philips was just a little more upfront about this compatibility issue I would have no reason to complain and leave this negative review. To be fair, it does not say on *this* box that it is compatible with Apple home. But it DOES say it’s compatible on the Philips Hue smart hub box, which is not really the case. One would think a flagship company/device such as Philips Hue would be compatible with the leading market share iPhone, without too much nonsense.
